Rev'd Dr Geoff Dumbreck

Geoff is Assistant Curate in the Church at Castle ministry team.

Geoff joined the ministry team in June 2013, when he was ordained deacon in Ely Cathedral. Apart from two years training for ministry in Cuddesdon, Oxfordshire, he has spent most of his adult life in Cambridge. He is enjoying getting to know a new part of the city, its churches and residents.

Geoff studied theology at Peterhouse, and worked for the University of Cambridge’s Psychology and Religion Research Group. He remains interested in philosophy and psychology of religion, and has worked on religious experience and the German theologian Friedrich Schleiermacher. He is enthusiastic about making theology accessible to a wider audience.

When not working, he enjoys going to concerts, travelling in Europe, cooking for friends, and has a (slightly geeky) passion for steam engines!
